
Spam Filter Setup Instruction
The webmail interface to the Facilities Operations IMAP email system allows users to set a SPAM filter that will provide an automated removal or moving of incoming spam.
q Log on to the webmail system at http://bonair.stanford.edu
q Click the Filters link at the top of the page.
q Click the Add a New Rule button.

q Select Header Match then click Move on to step 2>>

q From the header drop down menu select Subject and type [SPAM:###
The above line indicates the spam ranking of three ‘#' signs and above to be filtered to the SPAM folder. If you still wish to be more restrictive you can only use one or two pound signs.
q Click Move on to step 3>>

q Scroll down to Move messages into. If you already created a folder that will contain the incoming folder click on “the existing folder” radio button and select the folder from the drop down menu. If the folder has not been created, click on the “a new folder, named” and type a name for the folder you want to create.
q Click move onto step 4>>

q Click the Finished button.

And click the “Save Changes” button to save the rules you just created.
